Internal Communications
We are dedicated to keeping our college community informed, connected and engaged. This page outlines internal CHASS communication channels available to you, along with tips on how to use them to share important information with the college.
Channels
Upcoming in CHASS
A weekly digest of upcoming events connected to the college. Our team aims to send Upcoming every Monday during the fall and spring semesters.
- How to use: Submit your events through the University Calendar and make sure to tag CHASS and your home unit. We curate events from the University Calendar for our weekly digest.
CHASS News
A monthly newsletter with updates, stories and resources. Our team aims to send CHASS News the first Wednesday of every month throughout the year.
- How to use: Share story ideas and other updates through our Communications Request Form. We can’t promise we can pursue every lead, but let us know and we’ll be in touch.
Dean’s Office Gmail
Occasional emails from the dean with high-priority, sensitive or strategic messages.
- How to use: The Dean’s Office Gmail is primarily intended for important announcements and updates that require the dean’s direct communication. If you have a unique message that you believe should come through this channel, submit your request via the Communications Request Form at least two weeks in advance. Communications and Marketing will review your request, and if appropriate, work with you to finalize the message and ensure it aligns with college standards before sending it out.
Web
Intranet
Our intranet houses detailed resources, policies and other helpful information for faculty and staff.
- How to Use: Have something that should live on the intranet? Fill out our Communications Request Form to let us know.
Electronic Billboard Signs
The university billboard system displays high-visibility announcements on TV monitors placed throughout college buildings.
- How to use: Submit slides to NC State’s billboard system, and our team will consider them for monitors in CHASS buildings. We offer a few billboard templates on our communication resources page.
Meetings
Dean’s Tuesday Check-Ins
The dean hosts 30-minute Zoom meetings most Tuesdays throughout the fall and spring semesters.
- How to use: Attend the dean’s check-ins to stay informed and get answers to your questions. Zoom link: http://go.ncsu.edu/deandannelsupdates.
