Bio

Robin Clayton teaches in both the First Year Writing Program and the Department of Integrated Humanities and Social Sciences. As an ENG 101 instructor, Ms. Clayton prioritizes genres that center student experiences and challenge writers to consider their own relationships to power. In IHSS, they teach courses for both the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Science, Technology, and Society programs, with a focus on the the relationship between gender and scientific epistemology.

As an active member of the English department, she serves as a representative on the First Year Writing Council, mentors first-time teachers in the FYWP, and gives regular professional development talks that explore technology and pedagogy in the first year writing classroom.

Their service to the broader university includes mentoring Pack Promise students and serving as the faculty advisor for NCSU Bi/Pan, a student organization serving Bisexual and Pansexual students at N.C. State.
