Center for Family and Community Engagement
NC State’s Center for Family and Community Engagement (CFACE) provides a range of public service and research. Founded in 2008, the center fosters partnerships among families, communities and the academic sphere that address and support families through community engagement.
CFACE’s work includes:
- Offering professional training and technical assistance to social workers, child and family teams and other groups across the state.
- Educating families about social services and related systems.
- Working with faculty to conduct engaged scholarship in the community.
- Participating in local, national and global partnerships.

The Center for Family and Community Engagement provides its signature training across the state.
Moise A. Khayrallah Center for Lebanese Diaspora Studies
The Moise A. Khayrallah Center for Lebanese Diaspora Studies is dedicated to research about Lebanese immigrants in the U.S. and throughout the world — and to preserving and sharing that knowledge with scholars and the general public.
The center examines historical and contemporary Lebanese immigration in all of its dimensions—social, political, economic, and cultural—through a number of endeavors, including:
- A physical and digital archive.
- Digital humanities projects.
- Museum exhibits, documentaries and other media.
- A biennial conference.
- Publications, including the academic journal, Mashriq & Mahjar.

Genetic Engineering and Society Center
Our college proudly supports NC State’s Genetic Engineering and Society (GES) Center.
Positioned at the nexus where science and technology converge with the humanities and social sciences, the GES Center is an international leader in examining the technical, ethical and societal dimensions of the products and impacts of biotechnology.
