Jamey Widener

Lecturer

Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures

Withers Hall 222

Bio

Hola, todos! My name is Jamey Widener and I’ve been teaching Spanish here at NCSU since 2002. I love languages and I love to travel! Spanish is my real love, and  I have recently been taking French classes through our department just for kicks. I also speak a little Portuguese and a few words in Chinese and Navajo!

I am proud to say that I got my undergraduate degree right here in these hallowed halls. While a student here I did a semester abroad with the Santander program. It was one of the most important experiences in my life, and I  met some wonderful people there. I was recently able to spend Christmas with them in Madrid and got to brush up on my Spanish tortilla making skills (see profile pic here). You can read about it at http://fll.news.chass.ncsu.edu/2016/04/28/faculty-revisits-host-family-30-years-after-her-original-study-abroad-experience/
