¡Hola! My name is Emily Sands and I’ve been teaching Spanish here at NCSU since 2018. In addition I assist with VOLAR, a great organization here at State that provides students with volunteer opportunities with the local Hispanic community. I received my undergraduate degree in Spanish from Elon University and my masters in Foreign Language Education for the University of Southern Mississippi.
I love to travel and have spent time in over 10 countries. I studied Spanish in Perú, Argentina, and Spain. Obviously, I am also passionate about teaching. I teach an introduction to language education course here at State as well. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with family, hiking, and baking.
