Ryne Crout Jones
Bio
Ryne is an experienced researcher and educator, specializing in nonprofit and public management. Prior to pursing his graduate studies, Ryne was a high school French educator, advisor of student government, and the head coach for both the men and women’s swim and dive teams. He also has classroom experience in international settings.
In 2019, Ryne left the K-12 classroom to begin consulting with nonprofit organizations, councils of government, and local government agencies across the United States. As the firm’s Community Development Research Manager, Ryne was responsible for overseeing projects associated with community management, research and strategy, outreach and engagement, program evaluation, market research, and helping clients navigate pressing concerns efficiently and equitably.
As a PhD student, Ryne has extensive research experience in nonprofit management, organizational adaptation and learning, philanthropy, public management and local economic responses to crises, and efforts to include diversity, equity, and inclusion in organizational decision-making. Ryne also teaches undergraduate courses with NC State’s Departments of Political Science and Leadership in the Public Sector. He is also routinely invited to guest lecture and advise students interested in pursing community engagement, nonprofits, and community food systems management.
