Anna Abate
Bio
At the Center for Family and Community Engagement, Dr. Anna Abate oversees and manages various research projects as well as supervises undergraduate and graduate students. Dr. Abate received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Sam Houston State University in 2021, and she completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Virginia in 2022. Her published research has broadly been related to mental health and justice-involved populations. More specifically, her research centers on the social-cognitive basis of adolescent and young adult psychopathology with significant theoretical, methodological, and applied contributions to adolescent and young adult mental health, criminogenic outcomes, and family relations.
