Bio
I joined NC State University in 2025 as Assistant Professor of Philosophy. Previously, I was Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Creighton University and, before that, a postdoctoral Civic, Liberal, and Global Education (formerly Thinking Matters) fellow at Stanford University. I received my PhD in philosophy from Stanford University through the Joint Program in Ancient Philosophy (with Classics) in 2021. I was born in Hong Kong and grew up in San Francisco, CA.
My research specializes in ancient Greek and Roman philosophy. My current research project focuses on Aristotle’s ethics, including on questions about happiness, virtue, friendship, pleasure, and method, and I am also pursuing research on questions about knowledge, inquiry, and perception in Plato and Aristotle. You can find summaries of and links to my research on my PhilPeople page.
