Bio

Nina is a Ph.D. student interested in organizational networks, particularly the management and leadership therein. She is an active member of the Fire Chasers, a research lab under the direction of Dr. Branda Nowell, working to better understand systems of wildfire resilience in the western United States. Prior to pursuing her Ph.D., Nina assisted faculty with pursuing grant funding at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. As a grants manager of over $10M in multi-year funding, Nina coordinated with internal and external parties to prepare and submit over 50 grant proposals annually with budgets of up to $2M, ensuring compliance with federal, grantor, and institutional standards.

Now, as a Ph.D. student, Nina has gained research experience in purpose-oriented networks, network governance, and quantitative and qualitative methods. She has also gained teaching experience as an instructor of record for an Introduction to Public Administration course within NC State’s School of Public and International Affairs.
