Bio

Michelle was born in South Africa. She joined the Center for Family and Community Engagement as a University Program Associate in January 2025. She attended North Carolina State University where she earned a B.A. in Psychology (2009). She was the Administrative Assistant to the Head of the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical University of Southern Africa and the Assistant to the Vice President of Human Resources and College Safety at Wake Technical Community College.  In South Africa, Michelle worked for her family’s photography business, Gordon Harris Photographic and owned and operated Power Washing Experts in Holly Springs, NC.  Michelle’s daughter graduated from North Carolina State University. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys growing tropical plants in her greenhouse.
