McKinley Keener is a Ph.D. candidate in Rhetoric, Communication, and Digital Media at North Carolina State University and graduate of Guilford College. She is an instructor of record for classes like Introduction to Film, Masterpieces of the Ciema, Women and Film, and Electronic Media Writing. Her primary research lies at the intersection of phenomenology and moving image media, examining how screens inform daily living. Her current research project considers how glitches appear in the horror genre in online social spaces. She has presented on film and television at conferences such as Northeast MLA, the Mid-Atlantic Popular and American Culture Association, and Lit/Film Association.
