McKinley Keener (ABD) is a Ph.D. candidate in Rhetoric, Communication, and Digital Media at NC State and graduate of Guilford College. Her primary research lies at the intersection of phenomenology and moving image media, examining how the post-digital proliferation of screens informs daily living. Other academic interests include feminist film studies, contemporary horror, and formalist analysis. Her dissertation is titled Uncanny Glitches: Viewer Positionality in 21st Century Techno-Horror Film.
