Bio

Luke C. LeGrand is an artist, researcher, and teacher at NCSU. Originally from Asheville, NC, Luke has spent their life in NC education systems, from NC public schools to UNC, Duke, and NC State. Now, Luke’s research interests focus on teledildonics and the study of digital pleasures, identities, and communities through the lens of Feminist New Materialisms. Luke’s teaching spans Public Speaking, Critical Media Theory/Analysis, Critical and Practical Media Production, Communication Theory/Philosophy of Language, and Critical Coding/Visual Communication Design. Luke is always seeking out new opportunities to share knowledge and collaborate on projects, so feel free to reach out!

Area(s) of Expertise

Luke's research focuses on expanding the field of teledildonics through a Feminist New Materialist framework in order to better represent and analyze the diverse forms of auto- and community identification emergent from complex systems of digital devices, networking technologies, and body-minds operating in concert.
