Bio
Dr. Katherine “Kat” Ngaruiya is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the interdisciplinary Nonprofit Studies minor. With roots in both Kenya and the United States, Dr. Ngaruiya brings a unique global perspective to nonprofit management and social impact education. Her background bridges the nonprofit sector and academia, allowing her to infuse her teaching with practical insights from fundraising, program evaluation, and strategic planning.
Dr. Ngaruiya is deeply passionate about teaching and serving communities, with a focus on equity issues in education, immigration, healthcare, and the justice system. Her approach enables students to gain a comprehensive understanding of nonprofit management while developing practical skills to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
