Jessica’s research focuses on public human resources management, specifically on employee outcomes including job satisfaction, person-organization fit, and emotional labor. Her dissertation research is examining how identity threats impact federal employees and how they respond to them. Her teaching focus is on Introduction to Public Administration and Nonprofits.
Prior to starting the PhD program, Jessica worked in various nonprofits in Florida and Boston. Her work in nonprofits was focused on nonprofit management and development as well as communications. After moving to North Carolina, Jessica worked at the UNC School of Government for five years managing programs that served local government professionals and local elected officials across North Carolina.
