Area(s) of Expertise
I am a bioarchaeologist interested in understanding how skeletal modifications from socio-environmental factors inform individuals lived experiences. My research interests include paleopathology, biopower, and social identities in Latin America.
My current research project examines how social and physical environments alter bodies through the development of degenerative joint disease (DJD) in Jesuit members recovered from burials beneath the church floor from colonial period New Granada. My Master’s thesis is an example of my research interests in the intersections of paleopathology, social identities, and “health” within bioarchaeology.
