Bio

Emily Davis is a Pre-Award Specialist in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at North Carolina State University. In this role, she supports faculty in developing and submitting competitive research proposals to federal, state, and foundation sponsors, ensuring compliance with university and agency guidelines. Emily also coordinates internal funding programs and serves as the college’s subject matter expert for InfoEd SPIN, helping faculty identify and pursue strategic external funding opportunities.

Before joining NC State, Emily managed U.S. government–funded international programs at the National Democratic Institute and advanced global children’s policy initiatives at the national and international level with the Tides Center’s Children’s Policy and Funding Initiative. She has also held roles with the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Global Criminal Justice and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Area of Responsibility (AoR) Community of Practice (CoP), where she contributed to research and policy initiatives on international justice, humanitarian response, and gender-based violence prevention.

Emily holds an M.A. in International Studies with a concentration in International Human Rights and a Graduate Certificate in Humanitarian Assistance from the Josef Korbel School of Global & Public Affairs at the University of Denver and a B.A. in Political Science from The College of Wooster.
