Bio

I am a PhD candidate in Sociology specializing in Crime, Law, and Social Control. My research examines the intersection of urban governance and local criminal-legal policy. Ongoing projects explore how chronic nuisance ordinances shape local housing policy, how harm reduction efforts affect criminal-legal outcomes for people who use drugs, and how public defenders’ offices influence defendant outcomes in criminal court. My work has been published in Harm Reduction Journal and the International Journal of Drug Policy. I also hold a JD from Rutgers Law School, with a concentration in Criminal Law and Procedure, and an MA in American Studies with a focus on Public Humanities from Rutgers-Newark.
