Bio

Michelle was born in South Africa. She joined the Center for Family and Community Engagement as a University Program Associate in January 2025. She attended North Carolina State University where she earned a B.A. in Psychology (2009). She was the Administrative Assistant to the Head of the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical University of Southern Africa and more recently the Assistant to the Vice President of Human Resources and College Safety at Wake Technical Community College.  In South Africa, Michelle also worked for her family’s photography business and owned and operated a power washing business in Holly Springs, NC.  Michelle’s daughter graduated from North Carolina State University. Michelle grows tropical plants in her greenhouse in her spare time.
