William T. Grant Foundation Scholars Program

It is now timely to begin developing proposals for the W.T. Grant Foundation Scholars Program. As described at their website,

The William T. Grant Scholars Program supports career development for promising early-career researchers. The program funds five-year research and mentoring plans that significantly expand researchers’ expertise in new disciplines, methods, and content areas.

The application window opens on March 27, 2024, and the deadline for submissions is July 3, 2024, and 3 pm Eastern Time.

The foundation has two focus areas, both of which speak directly to strengths in our college: Reducing Inequality and Improving the Use of Research Evidence. Those selected for this award will recieve a grant of $350,000, distributed over five years.

This program is open to tenure-track junior faculty who are within seven years of the receipt of the doctorate or other terminal degree.

The college may nominate only one scholar for this program, so if you are interested in applying, please contact Associate Dean Tom Birkland (tabirkla@ncsu.edu) to share your plans.

Updated, March 8, 2024: Note that potential applicants for this program must submit materials for college review by May 1, 2024. See the update about this program at https://chass.ncsu.edu/intranet/news/2024/03/09/update-william-t-grant-foundation-scholars-program/
