NC State Libraries workshops on scholarly publishing
Welcome back after what I hope was a good summer for everyone. Our first post of the new school year highlights some important workshops on scholarly publishing that will be of great interest to faculty and graduate students. Please see below for details.
The NC State University Libraries is hosting five workshops this semester, each focused on a different aspect of scholarly publishing.
The first three workshops, offered virtually, will cover what you need to know about open access publishing, how to detect deceptive and fraudulent publishers, and how to get started with data publication. Next in the line-up is an in-person workshop at Hill Library on creating data visualizations for publication. Finally, the series concludes with a special “lunch and learn” workshop at Hunt Library with a guest presenter from IEEE to discuss publishing and the peer review process.
You will have opportunities to share your questions throughout the series and get feedback from librarians and publishing experts. These workshops are open to NC State students, faculty, and staff.
