Internal Deadline Set for the NEH Summer Stipend Applications

Deadline is Juily 26

The university has announced the process for the selection of the two nominees from NC State for the National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Stipends Program. Please note the internal deadline of July 26, 2023. Faculty who wish to be nominated will follow this link:  Submit NOI Here>>   This directs applicants to a form that asks the applicants to include a three-page narrative for the project for which they are seeking this support. We ask for this narrative so that we have sufficient information to select our two nominees. We also ask for this material so that the review committee can provide useful feedback to the applicant. We have had recent success with the program in part due to our ability to provide this feedback so that our applicants can revise and polish their applications.

In most years, the only applicants for this support have come from our college, so if this year is typical, the review of these applications will be handled within the college. If any nominations are received from outside our college, the university will work with the colleges to develop the appropriate review process.

Please share this with any faculty who are eligible for this support. Of course, I would be happy to answer any questions. The text from the university’s announcement follows this note.
