You may not know Arielle DeLisle personally, but if you've heard an ad for Planet Fitness -- or any of a number of businesses or services -- or you listen to audiobooks, chances are you've heard her voice. The English and psychology alumna has built a successful career as a voice-over specialist and voice actor.

Political Science Alum Works With Inner-City Students in Chicago

Since graduating from NC State, Miriam Kamya (Political Science '13) has gone on to tutor boys and coach girls’ track at a public high school in inner-city Chicago. She’s been a field organizer for a Democratic congressional campaign and an intern in the White House Visitors’ Office. Last spring, she joined the Big Shoulders Fund, which supports 82 Catholic schools in Chicago’s neediest neighborhoods, as events and service coordinator.

Alumna’s Novel Being Transformed into Amazon TV Series

Last summer, author and NC State alumna Therese Fowler added a new title to her resume: TV producer. After being invited to Savannah, Georgia, for the filming of a new Amazon Studios pilot, Fowler watched as Christina Ricci and a cast of supporting actors played out scenes inspired by Fowler’s latest book, “Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald.” Amazon has since ordered a full season of “Z: The Beginning of Everything,” a bio-series based on Fowler’s 2013 New York Times bestseller.
