Susan Navey-Davis’ Presentation Named One of Ten Best of 2013 SCOLT Conference

A session presented by Susan Navey-Davis, FLL Assistant Head for Student Affairs, was named one of the Ten Best of the 2013 Conference of the Southern Conference on Language Teaching (SCOLT) held in Birmingham, AL in April. Making Good Cops Better

The college's Administrative Officers Management Program is designed to develop management and leadership skills among law enforcement personnel. Since it launched in 1989, AOMP has graduated more than 1,700 officers from 140 different agencies and 13 different states. The most recent class comprised more than 365 years of law enforcement experience.

Three of the four seniors receiving the Mathews Medal this year are CHASS students. The Mathews Medal is the highest non-academic distinction awarded to NC State students, and is reserved for those who have made significant contributions based on leadership and service.

2013 Faculty Awards

Faculty from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences were recently recognized for outstanding accomplishments in teaching, advising, research and engagement at an awards ceremony and reception in Caldwell Lounge. "As we mark our 50th year as a distinct college, we continue to come into our own, as is reflected in our faculty's accomplishments," said CHASS Dean Jeff Braden. "The scholarship, commitment, and passion represented by these awards demonstrate the breadth of excellence in our faculty."

May 2013 Student of the Month

Student of the Month Milton Hall is a junior majoring in Sociology. He is a running back for the university's varsity football team, campus founder and president of the National Honor Society for Leadership and Success, and an active member of several student groups.
