Alum Produces Show on Salvaging Antiques

A passion for storytelling has led Brenna Eckerson (Communication ’02) from the Lost Colony to documenting salvagers.

In high school, the Outer Banks native ushered at Roanoke Island’s “Lost Colony” production just to be near the story told each night at the theater. After graduating from NC State with a degree in Mass Communication, Eckerson pursued her passion as a post-production coordinator and quickly earned Post Producer credits on Discovery Health programs. One of those shows, “Surviving Sextuplets & Twins,” introduced the world to the now-famous Gosselin family.

Eckerson has been part of the Distillery Pictures team since 2006 and has continued to evolve as a storyteller. Her repertoire includes field production, series production, and series creation. She recently earned a new title: Producer.

Eckerson’s current storytelling project —  Salvage Dawgs — is a documentary-style series that follows the owners of an architectural antique shop as they reclaim, repurpose, and resell artifacts of America’s past.
