CHASS Fest
Students, faculty, and staff filled the patio outside Caldwell Hall for a multidisciplinary celebration on a recent brilliant spring day. Behind the scenes, the Dean’s Office, CHASS Council, and student volunteers had been working alongside student volunteers to plan an afternoon of games and activities to celebrate CHASS.
CHASS Fest, an event showcasing a variety of departments and programs within CHASS, brought members of the college community outside to participate in academically inspired games. Festival goers were invited to take part in a miniature archaeological dig, a collaborative collage, flash poetry competitions, and a variety of trivia games.
But the event wasn’t all fun and games … there were raffle prizes as well. Four CHASS students — Stormi Gantzer, Criminology; Clint Mast, Political Science; Douglas Murphy, Communication; and Megan Parker, Spanish — received gift certificates to the NCSU Bookstores.
A student blogger captured the spirit of the event in this piece on the University’s admissions blog.
