About the Center

What Can You Get Help With?

The Academic Support Center employs graduate student advisors who can help answer your questions about:

  • University policies.
  • Registering for classes.
  • Academic records.
  • Degree requirements.
  • University resources.
  • Study skills, time management and goal setting.
  • Transition to NC State as a new student.

Who Can Visit?

Our advisors are available not only to Humanities and Social Sciences students, but also to all NC State students. Considering transferring to the college? Adding a Humanities and Social Sciences major or minor? Need help locating campus resources? Contact us.

Traditional Advising Required

While the support center is an extra resource, it’s not a substitute for traditional advising through your major department. You’ll still need to visit your academic advisor for course registration approval. In addition, your major department remains the most comprehensive source of information for degree requirements, careers, internships and discipline-specific graduate studies.
