My NC State Story: Larry Bliss (Speech Communication ‘77, Adult and Community College Education ‘05)
My degree from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences confirmed my lifelong devotion to the arts, particularly the spoken and written word. After working in print journalism, advertising, graphic arts and research interviewing, I became semi-retired and am now pursuing my dream career of playwriting.
My experiences at Thompson Theatre and my coursework in oral interpretation and modern drama have informed my work, especially my love of classic writers such as Shakespeare, Ibsen and O’Neill. My entire family has worked at NC State and my mother, brother and I were all active academically there.
Larry Bliss is a playwright and online content writer.
