BSW Student Earns Recognition on ACC Honor Roll

In August, the 58th annual Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) recognized more than 3,000 students for academic performance and dedication in 2013-2014; 230 were NC State students. One of those young athletes is Bachelor’s of Social Work student Jennifer Mathurin. The sophomore grew up speaking French in her home of Montreal, Canada. As a freshman she was named Second Team All-Star. She lead her AAU team to win the Provincial Championship title in 2009, and also brought the Quebec Provincial team to two bronze finishes at the Canadian National Championships.

The ACC honor roll requires athletes to maintain a 3.0 GPA throughout the academic year. In 2013-2014, Mathurin maintained her high GPA despite a rigorous course load, and while playing 30 games in her freshman year. The Department of Social Work extends congratulations to this outstanding student athlete.
