Institute for Nonprofits Receives Seed Grant

The Institute for Nonprofits has received a seed grant from the University’s office of Extension, Engagement, and Economic Development to plan and pilot a fund development certificate program.

“This program will strengthen current and aspiring nonprofit professionals’ fundraising skills, knowledge, and abilities,” said Mary Tschirhart, director of the Institute. In this economy, nonprofits are even more motivated to find innovative and effective approaches to fund development. We receive many requests from nonprofit leaders for help with their fundraising efforts.”

The Institute plans to launch a pilot program in Spring 2012 that will give nonprofit staff and volunteers tools and strategies to increase their fundraising efficiency and effectiveness.
