Coming Back to the Pack

Master of International Studies alumnus Elmas Hasanovikj returned to his alma mater with a delegation from his native North Macedonia.

Elmas talks to two other people.

It had been six years since Elmas Hasanovikj strolled around NC State’s campus as a graduate student. But that recently changed when the 2018 Master of International Studies alum returned to his alma mater to tour the grounds with a delegation from his native North Macedonia, where he serves as an adviser to the country’s minister of defense.

During the visit, the representatives visited Hunt Library and the PULSTAR nuclear reactor. They also met with faculty and staff, shared conversations over lunch and dinner, and enjoyed a tasty scoop or two of Howling Cow ice cream.

Hasanovikj also carved out time to chat with NC State senior Kemmia Godhrat, who led the campus portion of the tour. She is a communication major, who is interning for the university’s Office of Global Engagement.

In this video, Hasanovikj talks with Godhrat about his job responsibilities, career path, NC State experience and more.
