McLaughlin Awarded Luce/ACLS Fellowship

Levi McLaughlin, assistant professor of religious studies, has been awarded a Luce/ACLS Fellowship in Religion, Journalism and International Affairs for the 2018-19 academic year. The fellowship will support McLaughlin’s project Religious Influences on Japanese Politics and Policymaking.

NC State history professor Matthew Booker will continue to examine the evolution of food production in American cities during a year-long fellowship at the National Humanities Center.

English Professor Named Frederick Burkhardt Fellow

English professor James Mulholland has been named a 2016 recipient of the American Council of Learned Societies Frederick Burkhardt Residential Fellowship. Mulholland, an associate professor of 18th-century British poetry and Anglo-Indian literature, will spend the 2016-17 academic year in residency at the National Humanities Center in Durham. There, he’ll focus on an ongoing book project documenting the rich and unique literary culture of 18th-century British India.

State Department Taps Security Policies Expert for Jefferson Fellowship

The U.S. Department of State recently named political scientist and Science, Technology and Society program director Kathleen Vogel to its 12th class of Jefferson Science Fellows, a group of scholars who serve one-year assignments as science advisers on foreign policy issues.
