Blair Kelley Named Assistant Dean

Dr. Blair L.M. Kelley has been named assistant dean for interdisciplinary studies and international programs at NC State University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The CHASS Interdisciplinary Studies Program awards an array of cross-disciplinary undergraduate degrees. IDS major programs include Africana Studies, Arts Studies (including Film Studies), International Studies, Science Technology and Society (STS), Self-Design Studies, and Women’s and Gender Studies

So when she saw an email about an undergraduate research award that involved translating, the Foreign Languages and Literatures major leapt at the opportunity. Staff Member Personifies Commitment to Serve

As a staff trainer for the college's Center for Family and Community Engagement, she provides outreach and training to all of North Carolina's 100 counties. Kearney and four other NC State staff members have earned recognition from the university's Awards for Excellence program.

Chris Hondros is Remembered, Celebrated at D.C. Event

NC State alumni, friends and family gathered at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., to remember Chris Hondros (English '93), the NC State alum who was killed on April 20, 2011, while on assignment for Getty Images in Libya.
