Designing Your Life After Graduation
Pssst …
Hey, upperclass Wolfpack students: Are you feeling a little clueless about how to make the pivot from your major to your calling? Maybe even overwhelmed when you imagine life after college? Are you wondering how to find the right job, or even where to start?
Have we got a deal for you! Design your life with the help of three NC State college deans. Design’s Mark Hoversten, Humanities and Social Sciences’ Jeff Braden and Poole College of Management’s Annette Ranft invite NC State juniors and seniors to apply for Designing Your Life, a two-part workshop they’re facilitating to help you successfully pivot from college to career.
Design thinking — a process designers use to build and innovate — provides a way to help you identify and achieve your work and life goals. We’ll read and discuss The New York Times bestseller, Designing Your Life and work through some design thinking exercises during our two sessions together.
What’s in it for you? In addition to unparalleled help and support from three awesome NC State deans, the program, lunch, and access to the book are free. You’ll leave with a candid self-assessment of your current life, clear ideas about what you want from work and from life, and a set of strategies to prototype and build a career and a life that’s consistent with your goals.
Apply by Sept. 22. Space is limited to 30 participants, chosen at random. We’ll let you know by Sept. 25. Our two sessions will take place on October 13 and 27 from noon – 4:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend. Lunch and digital access to Designing Your Life are included.
