About the Program
Through our free Humanities Extension Program, our college experts can provide presentations about their work in person or online with students in grades K-12. The program also aims to foster students’ understanding of how the humanities and social sciences help them develop the creative and critical thinking skills they’ll need to be successful now and in the future.
Why Should You Participate?
- The program is free, flexible and open to K-12 public school teachers throughout North Carolina. Our faculty can tailor content to the age and education level of students.
- Our experts can enhance classroom discussions with in-depth knowledge on specific topics of your choice. Examples might include American government and elections, dialects and linguistics, biological anthropology, international studies, environmental history, and medieval literature, among many other subjects.
- Our professors can introduce your students to new areas of study, fields, careers and perspectives.
