Roger M. Friedensen, MA, APR Partner, Forge Communications Roger is a founding partner of Forge Communications, an evidence-based strategic research and marketing communication firms based in Raleigh, N.C. Roger began his consulting career in 1985 with Epley Associates, Inc., one of the Southeast’s leading public relations firms. Over the years, Roger has managed a wide array of strategic marketing communication programs for a broad range of regional, national and international clients across dozens of industry sectors in the public and private sectors. Before co-founding Forge Communications in late 2009, Roger served as vice president and senior vice president of client services at Epley Associates, Inc. and The Catevo Group. His specialties include strategic planning, brand/reputation design and management, content development, inbound content marketing, public relations, crisis communications, issue management, media relations, thought leadership, digital communications, employee/community relations, and spokesperson coaching. Roger has helped a range of organizations manage a wide array of complex marketing communication issues and projects. Clients have included: IBM Watson Health, IBM Clinical Development, GSK, PPD, Quintiles (IQVIA), PPGx, Carolinas Healthcare System (Atrium), Novo Nordisk, BB&T, Colonial Pipeline, Corning, Duke University, Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce, GE, the N.C. Turnpike Authority and Novozymes. Roger is a visiting instructor in the Department of Communication Studies at North Carolina State University and a frequent guest speaker at local and national conferences. He earned master’s and bachelor’s degrees in speech communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, from which he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Active in the community, Roger is a steering committee member of and strategic counsel to the Regional Transportation Alliance and has served on the boards of many other local and state organizations. An accredited member of PRSA, Roger served on the Executive Committee of the Counselors Academy of PRSA and is past president of the Raleigh Public Relations Society (RPRS). He received the Watt Huntley Lifetime Achievement award from RPRS in 2015.
