The film is based on the Audible Original of the same name, both of which were written by Eisenberg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Eisenberg\u2019s second directorial effort, A Real Pain<\/em>, had its world premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award, and was released theatrically by Searchlight Pictures later that year. The film received widespread critical acclaim, particularly for Eisenberg’s screenplay, for which he won the BAFTA Award for Best Original Screenplay and was nominated in the same category at the 97th Annual Academy Awards. The film was also named as one of the top ten films of 2024 by the American Film Institute and the National Board of Review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Eisenberg will next go into production directing his third film, an untitled musical comedy starring Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti. He will direct from his own script, while also contributing original music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Eisenberg has written four plays, including The Spoils<\/em>, which had a box-office record-breaking run on the West End. He also wrote and starred alongside Vanessa Redgrave in his play The Revisionist<\/em> and Asuncion<\/em>.
