Answers to Your Giving Questions
How much should I contribute?
Your gifts are an individual and personal decision. Giving should be focused on your passion and the impact you wish to have. Annually the college receives gifts of all size and they all have an impact of their own. For example, 10 gifts of $150 can open a door for a student to study abroad. Or a $1,000 gift can help an undergraduate student participate in research with a faculty member. All gifts are tax deductible. Please consult your tax advisor for details. Our fiscal year runs July 1 – June 30. Click here to make a gift.
Can I specify where my contribution should go?
Your gift is important and we want to use it in the ways you wish. Your gift can be designated to a variety of departments and funds.
Can I designate my gift to more than one area?
Yes. In your correspondence, please note the amount and to which department or fund you wish to support.
How do I create an endowment?
Endowments provide donors with opportunities to create living legacies. When you create an endowment, you touch the lives of future generations. Your gift is immediately invested and, when fully funded, produces annual income to support the endowment’s purpose for years to come. What about matching gifts?
Many corporations and businesses sponsor programs that match charitable contributions made by their employees, employees’ spouses or retirees. This is a great way to double or even triple your gift to NC State.

Why is alumni participation a powerful indication of the strength of a college?
