Awards
Freshman Awards
The college awards a limited number of scholarships to first-year students. There is no application form for these scholarships; application for admission to NC State in a CHASS curriculum by November 1 constitutes application.
- Dean's Scholar Award (for incoming freshman, any CHASS major)
- J. Carlie Adams Scholarship (for incoming freshman, any CHASS major)
- Slater E. Newman Scholarship (for incoming freshman with a Psychology major)
College Merit Scholarships
The college has a limited number of merit-based scholarships available to returning students. The application process is announced and managed by the CHASS Dean’s Office in February of each year, with most recipients notified by mid-March. Merit applicants must have an NC State University GPA of at least 3.5. Leadership, extracurricular involvement and volunteer activities are also considered. Applications are not made per scholarship – selected recipients apply for a generic “merit” award and are then matched with a scholarship.
