Tell a Story, Win a Prize

Got a story to tell? Don’t dilly-dally. Enter it in the 2014 statewide short story contest sponsored by NC State’s Creative Writing Program.

Monday, October 13, is the postmark deadline to enter your work of fiction. Competition is open to all North Carolina residents; several exceptions apply.

This year’s guest judge is New York Times best-selling author Wiley Cash. He will announce the winners and read from his own work on Wednesday, November 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Caldwell Lounge.

The writer of the best story under 5,000 words will win $500. The prize for the best story of less than 1,200 words is $250. The contest is free to enter.

For submission information, visit the contest page.
